Jacob Druckman was an American composer who won the 1972 Pulitzer Prize for Music for his orchestral work 'Windows', and was a leading figure in late-20th-century American concert music and a longtime Yale faculty member. He was Jewish, born to a Jewish family in Philadelphia. He shaped a generation of composers through his teaching and his role at the New York Philharmonic's Horizons festivals.
