Itzhak Bentov

Itzhak Bentov was a Czech-born Israeli-American inventor and biomedical engineer who developed the first practical steerable cardiac catheter, a device that advanced angiography and catheter-based diagnosis and treatment. He was Jewish; he emigrated to Mandatory Palestine and later to the United States, where he also became known as a writer on consciousness. He died in the 1979 crash of American Airlines Flight 191.
