Isaac Held

Held is an atmospheric scientist at Princeton's Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory whose theoretical work on atmospheric circulation, Hadley cells and climate modelling shaped modern understanding of how the atmosphere responds to warming. He was born in Ulm to Jewish refugee parents; his mother was a survivor of Auschwitz, and the family emigrated to the United States when he was a child.
