Inbar Shashua Bar-Nir is recognized among Israeli contributors to Civil Rights & Human Rights — Chairwoman of the Shashua Family Foundation, whose Social Solidarity Foundation supports more than 13,000 Israeli small businesses, including emergency grants after 7 October 2023
Origins and early life
Inbar Shashua Bar-Nir is the daughter of the computer scientist Amnon Shashua, co-founder of Mobileye and winner of the Israel Prize in 2023, and of the social entrepreneur Anat Ramaty Shashua. Her parents set up the Shashua Family Foundation in 2018 to advance social mobility and solidarity in Israel, and it has since given about 300 million shekels to work with young people at risk, to science and technology teaching in the periphery, and to small businesses.
Work and career
In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, they created its entrepreneurial arm, the Social Solidarity Foundation, whose We19 project gave growth grants to small business owners and whose WeR1 app now serves more than 13,000 Israeli business owners. She chairs the foundation's board, oversees its development and strategy, and co-directs its entrepreneurial division, bringing to it her own experience with populations at risk and with people with special needs.
After the attacks of 7 October 2023 the foundation first sent immediate help to organisations already working in health, gender equality and employment, then created emergency grants for the 13,000 small businesses in its network, many of them displaced from the south and the north. In 2023 the Jerusalem Post named her and her father among its fifty most influential Jews, quoting her account of growing up in a giving and socially responsible household.
No source states her Jewish identity in so many words: an Israeli philanthropist's biography has no reason to mention it. She is here under the Israeli presumption the site adopted on 7 September 2026 — a Hebrew given name and Hebrew surnames, a life in Israel, and a strong attested tie, here her leadership of an Israeli foundation and of its small-business arm — which is a presumption and not a declaration, and which any contrary source overturns.
