Idan Amedi was born in Jerusalem to a Kurdish Jewish family. He came to notice on the talent show Kochav Nolad in 2010, built a career as a singer-songwriter, and played Sagi Tzur in Fauda. He was seriously wounded on reserve duty in Gaza in January 2024 and returned to performing after months of recovery.
