Ida Rosenthal

Ida Rosenthal was a Jewish immigrant entrepreneur, born in the shtetl of Rakov in the Russian Empire before emigrating to the United States. She helped create the modern brassiere with standardized cup sizes and, with her husband William, built Maidenform into the world's leading bra manufacturer. Her innovation transformed women's clothing and comfort in the twentieth century.
