Heinrich Wilhelm Ernst is recognized among Jewish contributors to Arts & Literature — Violinist and composer
Heinrich Wilhelm Ernst was a Moravian violin virtuoso and composer regarded as one of the greatest violinists of the nineteenth century and a friend and rival of Paganini, whose fearsomely difficult works — including the study 'The Last Rose of Summer' — remain benchmarks of technical mastery. He was born into a Jewish family in Brünn (now Brno). He toured Europe extensively and influenced the development of virtuoso violin writing.
