George Boolos

George Boolos was a philosopher and mathematical logician at MIT whose work on the foundations of mathematics, provability logic, and Frege's logicism was highly influential; he also produced a celebrated proof-theoretic study of second-order logic. He was of Greek and Jewish (German-Jewish) descent. His scholarship shaped how modern logicians read Frege and understand self-reference.
