How & why
Ernest Mandel was a Belgian Marxist economist and theorist, author of 'Marxist Economic Theory' and 'Late Capitalism', and a leading figure of the Fourth International. Born to a Jewish family, he was active in the Belgian anti-Nazi resistance and survived deportation to German camps, later becoming one of the most widely read Marxist scholars of the twentieth century.
