Bernard Gold was an American electrical engineer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory who, with Charles Rader, pioneered the field of digital signal processing and co-authored the foundational 1969 textbook 'Digital Processing of Signals'. He also taught the first university courses on the subject and advanced speech coding and recognition. Gold was Jewish, born to a Jewish family in Brooklyn.
