Amiel Feinstein

Amiel Feinstein was an American information theorist, remembered chiefly for his 1958 textbook Foundations of Information Theory and for early work refining Claude Shannon's channel coding results, including a rigorous proof of the noisy-channel coding theorem. He was associated with Bell Telephone Laboratories, a center of information-theory research. He appears on reference lists of Jewish computer and information scientists; his dates are not established in the sources consulted.
