Alan Oppenheim

Oppenheim is an American engineer and MIT professor who helped found the modern field of digital signal processing. His textbooks — especially 'Signals and Systems' and 'Discrete-Time Signal Processing' — have taught the subject to generations of engineers worldwide and became defining references for the field. His research advanced techniques for processing speech, audio and other signals now embedded in everyday technology. He is documented among Jewish computer and information scientists.
