Aleksei Goldenveizer

Goldenveizer (Aleksei L'vovich Gol'denveizer) was a Soviet applied mathematician and mechanician regarded as a founder of the modern mathematical theory of thin shells, deriving the equations that govern how curved shells bend and carry load — results central to aerospace and structural engineering. He worked at leading Soviet aviation and engineering institutes. He is identified as being of Jewish origin in biographical references.
