Veniamin Kaverin (born Veniamin Zilber) was a Soviet-Russian novelist, a member of the Serapion Brothers literary group, best known for the adventure novel Two Captains — one of the most popular Soviet books of the twentieth century — awarded the Stalin Prize and repeatedly reprinted and filmed. He was born into a Jewish family in Pskov.
