Chervin is an American screenwriter who originated the story and wrote the first screenplay adapting Michael Lewis's book Moneyball, receiving a 'story by' credit on the acclaimed 2011 film, which earned him a shared Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. He trained in New York's non-profit theatre scene before moving into film. He is Jewish.
