Simon Reuben

Simon Reuben was born in Bombay in 1941 into a Baghdadi Jewish family. He began in carpets and property in London while his brother David traded metals; together they became among the wealthiest people in Britain, with a portfolio running from Millbank Tower to data centres and racecourses. The Reuben Foundation, which they fund jointly, gives to hospitals, universities and children's charities.
