How & why
Peter Serkin was an American classical pianist admired for his searching interpretations of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and modern composers such as Schoenberg, Takemitsu and Wolpe, and as a founder of the chamber group Tashi. He was the son of pianist Rudolf Serkin and grandson of violinist Adolf Busch. Through his father, Rudolf Serkin, he was of Jewish (Russian-Jewish) descent.
