Paul C. Martin

Paul C. Martin was a theoretical physicist at Harvard who, with his advisor Julian Schwinger, developed foundational methods for quantum many-body systems (the Martin–Schwinger formalism), later contributing to theories of superfluidity, liquid crystals and turbulence; he served two decades as dean of applied sciences. He appears in Jewish reference listings of physicists; his obituaries do not describe his religious background, so no personal statement of Jewish identity is documented here.
