Moussa B. H. Youdim is an Israeli neuroscientist, born into a Jewish family in Tehran, Iran. At the Technion in Haifa he co-developed rasagiline (Azilect), a neuroprotective drug for Parkinson's disease that was approved by the US FDA in 2006. A pioneer of MAO-inhibitor research, he was awarded the Israel Prize in Life Sciences in 2022 for his contributions to treating neurodegenerative disease.
