Michael Levin

Michael Levin is a developmental biologist at Tufts University whose research on bioelectric signaling reveals how cells use electrical patterns to coordinate growth, regeneration and pattern formation. By manipulating these signals his team has regenerated tissues and produced novel biological forms, opening new directions in regenerative medicine. He is of Jewish background; his family emigrated from the Soviet Union to the United States when he was a child.
