Micha Kaufman

Origins and early life

Micha Kaufman founded Fiverr with Shai Wininger and launched it in Tel Aviv on 1 February 2010; he has been its chief executive since the first day and is chairman of its board.

Work and career

What the two built was a two-sided market for the work freelancers do — writing, translation, graphic design, video editing, programming — with a flat five-dollar price on every task at the start, which is where the name comes from. The point was that a piece of skilled work could be bought as simply as an object, and it reached people whose trade had no local market to sell into: the platform now spans an estimated 160 countries and has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 2019.

No source states his Jewish identity in so many words: an Israeli founder's biography has no reason to mention it, and in Israeli public life it is non-belonging that gets said, because that is what is notable. He is here under the Israeli presumption the site adopted on 7 September 2026 — a Hebrew given name and surname, a life in Israel, and a strong attested tie — which is a presumption and not a declaration, and which any contrary source overturns.
