Max Jammer (born Moshe Jammer) was a physicist and historian of physics whose conceptual histories — 'Concepts of Space,' 'The Conceptual Development of Quantum Mechanics' and studies of mass and force — became standard references. He fled Nazi Germany, studied and taught at the Hebrew University, and founded the physics department at Bar-Ilan University, later serving as its president. He was Jewish.
