Leon Fleisher

Leon Fleisher was an American classical pianist and conductor of Jewish heritage, a child prodigy who studied with Artur Schnabel and became one of the leading pianists of his generation. After losing the use of his right hand to focal dystonia, he built a celebrated career in left-hand repertoire, conducting and teaching, and eventually returned to two-hand playing after decades of treatment. His resilience made him a revered figure in music.
