Julian Tuwim is recognized among Jewish contributors to Arts & Literature — Poet / lyricist
Julian Tuwim was one of the greatest Polish poets of the twentieth century, a founder of the Skamander group whose lyrical, inventive verse and children's poems remain classics of the Polish language. Born into a Jewish family in Łódź, he was of documented Jewish origin and, in exile during the war, wrote the searing lament 'We, Polish Jews.' His work profoundly shaped modern Polish poetry.
