Attestation note: this is a literary and apocryphal figure, not a historical one. Scholars regard the book as historical fiction written in the 2nd or 1st century BCE, its geography and chronology are demonstrably artificial, and it was never included in the Hebrew canon; it is deuterocanonical for Catholic and Orthodox churches and apocryphal for Protestants.
