Joshua Bell

Bell is an acclaimed American violinist and music director of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, known for his warm tone, a Grammy-winning discography and a much-discussed 2007 subway experiment on public attention to art. His mother is Jewish — her father was born in Mandatory Palestine and her mother in Minsk — and Bell has described himself as Jewish, close to his mother's heritage.
