Jerzy Petersburski was a Polish-Jewish pianist and composer of popular music, celebrated above all for his tangos, including 'To ostatnia niedziela' (The Last Sunday) and 'Tango milonga' (known internationally as 'Oh, Donna Clara'), which helped popularize the genre in interwar Poland. Born into a well-known Warsaw family of Jewish musicians, he survived the war years abroad before returning to Poland. His melodies remain widely known to this day.
