Hélène Grimaud is a French classical pianist celebrated for her intense, individual interpretations of the Romantic repertoire, especially Brahms, Schumann and Rachmaninoff. She is also a noted writer and the founder of a wolf-conservation center in New York State. She has described her Jewish heritage, saying her father came from Sephardi Jews in Africa and her mother's ancestors were Jewish Berbers from Corsica.
