Georg Pick

Georg Alexander Pick was an Austrian mathematician best known for Pick's theorem, a strikingly simple formula giving the area of a lattice polygon from its boundary and interior lattice points. He worked in Prague and, as a mentor there, helped bring Einstein into contact with the geometry underlying general relativity. Jewish, he was deported and died in the Theresienstadt concentration camp in 1942.
