How & why
Ebb was the lyricist half of the songwriting team Kander and Ebb, who wrote the scores for the landmark musicals 'Cabaret' and 'Chicago', among many others. Born into a Jewish family in New York, he won Tony, Grammy and Emmy awards over a decades-long partnership. His sharp, theatrical lyrics are among the most performed in American musical theatre.
