Eric Carmen was an American singer-songwriter who led the power-pop band the Raspberries ('Go All the Way') and then had a major solo career with hits including 'All by Myself,' 'Never Gonna Fall in Love Again' and 'Hungry Eyes.' Known for melding rock with classical-influenced melodies, he was a defining voice of 1970s and 1980s pop. He was born in Cleveland to a family of Russian Jewish immigrants.
