Edward Eliscu was an American lyricist, playwright and screenwriter who wrote the words to standards including 'More Than You Know,' 'Without a Song' and 'Carioca,' and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Born in Manhattan to Romanian Jewish immigrant parents, he was Jewish; he was also active in progressive causes and against the Hollywood blacklist.
