David Aberle

David Friend Aberle was an American cultural anthropologist best known for 'The Peyote Religion Among the Navaho' (1966) and for his relative-deprivation theory of social movements. Trained at Columbia and later a professor at the University of British Columbia, he combined ethnography of the American Southwest with comparative analysis. He came from an American Jewish family.
