Chico Marx was a comedian, actor and pianist, the eldest of the Marx Brothers, whose fake-Italian patter and comic piano playing were a mainstay of the team's anarchic comedies such as 'Duck Soup' and 'A Night at the Opera.' The Marx Brothers were born in New York to a Jewish immigrant family; their mother, Minnie, came from an Alsatian-German Jewish show-business family.
