Burton Lane was an American composer of popular songs and Broadway musicals, best known for 'Finian's Rainbow' (1947) and 'On a Clear Day You Can See Forever' (1965), and for songs written for Hollywood films. He is credited with discovering the young Judy Garland. Lane was Jewish, born Burton Levy to a Jewish family in New York City.
