Origins and early life
Brandon Berman grew up on Long Island and studied at the University at Albany.
Work and career
He worked as a page at NBCUniversal and interned on the Howard Stern Show before turning to stand-up, and in late 2018 he and Harrison Forman launched a live show built on a format neither television nor the dating apps had tried: two strangers meet on a first date, blindfolded, on a stage, in front of an audience that asks the questions, with the daters filing their own half-time reports from the stage. Berman hosts the ninety minutes.
UpDating has since played more than a hundred and forty cities, among them the Town Hall in New York and the Wilbur in Boston, with eighty-two shows in 2025 and a twenty-one-city American tour running from July to December 2026. Its second life is online: the YouTube channel has passed a million subscribers, and the clips have gathered more than five billion views and 6.3 million followers across platforms — reach no live comedy room produces on its own.
The pair signed with WME in 2021 and with Brillstein Entertainment Partners in April 2025, and in January 2026 ITV America, the producer of Love Island USA, began developing a television version with both men as executive producers and on camera.
