Barry Trost

Trost, an American Jewish organic chemist at Stanford, is a leading figure in the design of efficient, selective chemical reactions. He articulated the principle of 'atom economy', urging that reactions incorporate the maximum of their starting materials into the product, and developed the Tsuji–Trost reaction, a key palladium-catalyzed method. His work underpins greener, more sustainable synthesis.
