Adam Heller is recognized among Jewish contributors to Science & Medicine — Electrochemist known for glucose biosensors
Adam Heller is an Israeli-American electrochemist and engineer whose 'wired enzyme' electron-transfer chemistry made possible painless, low-blood-volume glucose sensors; the FreeStyle system he co-developed transformed diabetes self-monitoring. He also advanced high-energy lithium batteries. He was born into a Jewish family in Cluj, survived the Holocaust on the Kastner train, and settled in Israel before his career in the United States.
