How & why
Uzi Even is an Israeli professor emeritus of physical chemistry at Tel Aviv University, noted for research on supercooled molecules and molecular clusters, and became the first openly gay member of the Knesset in 2002. He is an Israeli Jew; his 1993 testimony helped end the ban on gay people serving in sensitive IDF roles.
