Steve Wynn

Born Stephen Alan Weinberg to a Jewish family in New Haven, Steve Wynn took over his late father's bingo halls and remade Las Vegas three times: the Golden Nugget restored its glamour, The Mirage (1989) invented the modern mega-resort — volcano, white tigers — and the Bellagio (1998) gave the Strip fine art and dancing fountains; Wynn and Encore followed in Las Vegas and Macau.
