Stephen Kosslyn

Kosslyn is an American psychologist and one of the founders of cognitive neuroscience, best known for research on mental imagery — demonstrating, through experiments and brain imaging, that mental images are 'depictive' representations that engage the visual system. He chaired Harvard's psychology department and later led the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford. He is identified in Jewish reference works among Jewish contributors to psychology.
