How & why
Solomon Cutner, who performed simply as Solomon, was a British classical pianist regarded as one of the finest of the 20th century, celebrated for his Beethoven, Brahms and Mozart. A child prodigy, his career was cut short by a stroke in 1956, but his recordings remain benchmarks. He was born into a Jewish family in the East End of London.
