Sheldon Wolin

Wolin was one of the most influential American political theorists of the twentieth century, whose classic Politics and Vision (1960) reshaped the study of political thought and who later coined the idea of 'inverted totalitarianism'. He taught at Berkeley and Princeton and won the American Political Science Association's Lippincott Award. He came from a Russian-Jewish immigrant family; his father emigrated from Russia.
