Rosina Lhevinne was a Russian-American concert pianist and one of the most influential piano teachers of the 20th century at the Juilliard School. Her students included Van Cliburn, John Williams and James Levine, and she performed into her nineties. She was Jewish, emigrating from Russia and later fleeing to the United States.
