Robert Downey Sr. is recognized among Jewish contributors to Arts & Literature — Underground satirist ('Putney Swope'); father of Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Downey Sr. (born Robert John Elias) was an American actor and underground filmmaker whose satirical films — above all 'Putney Swope' (1969) — became countercultural touchstones; he was the father of Robert Downey Jr. His father was of Lithuanian- and Hungarian-Jewish descent (alongside Irish and German), giving Downey partial documented Jewish ancestry.
