Philippe Kahn

Philippe Kahn is a French-American technology entrepreneur and inventor, born in Paris to a Jewish mother who survived Auschwitz. In 1997 he built and demonstrated the first camera phone that instantly shared photos over a cellular network, capturing the birth of his daughter and sending the image in real time. His invention laid the foundation for the picture-sharing culture central to modern smartphones and social media.
