Philip Siekevitz

Philip Siekevitz was an American cell biologist who spent most of his career at Rockefeller University, where he helped elucidate the structure and function of cell organelles and, with Nobel laureate George Palade, advanced the understanding of protein synthesis and membrane dynamics. He co-authored the first cell biology textbook and led the American Society for Cell Biology. Reference works on Jews in biomedical science list him among Jewish scientists.
