Paul Muni

Paul Muni (born Meshilem Meier Weisenfreund) was a celebrated stage and film actor who began in the Yiddish theatre and won the Academy Award for Best Actor for The Story of Louis Pasteur, becoming known for intense biographical and character roles. He was one of the most respected screen actors of the 1930s. He was born to a Jewish theatrical family in Lemberg, then Austria-Hungary, and emigrated to the United States.
