Nat Holman was an American basketball player and coach nicknamed 'Mr. Basketball,' a star of the Original Celtics in the 1920s and a pioneering theorist of team play. As head coach of City College of New York, he led CCNY to the unique 1950 sweep of both the NIT and NCAA tournaments in a single season. Holman, the son of Jewish immigrants, was a prominent figure in the strongly Jewish world of early American basketball.
