Mitch Albom

Mitch Albom was born in Passaic, New Jersey, in 1958 to Jewish parents and grew up in Haddon Township. Named the best sports columnist in the United States a record thirteen times by the Associated Press Sports Editors, he wrote Tuesdays with Morrie in 1997 about the last months of his dying professor; it has sold more than twenty million copies in forty-five languages and is one of the best-selling memoirs ever published. Have a Little Faith grew out of the eulogy he was asked to write for Albert Lewis, the rabbi of his childhood. He founded S.A.Y. Detroit, which funds shelters for the homeless across the Detroit area, and has run the Have Faith Haiti Mission and Orphanage in Port-au-Prince with his wife since 2010.
